Special Volunteer Opportunities:
As you can imagine, when visitors experience Our Body: The Universe Within, the national traveling exhibition now at EP, many questions are asked about the anatomy, function and diseases of the human body. To help answer them, and make this exhibit an even greater educational experience, we enlisted a number of doctors, nurses, physical therapists and members of other medical professions – retired, active AND students – to be Medical Volunteer Docents in the exhibition. Volunteer Services helps to fulfill the mission of Exploration Place through the expertise, leadership and assistance of qualified unpaid staff.
The Volunteer Program at Exploration Place is more than just something to do; it’s an adventure. Participating as a Volunteer opens doors to fun experiences and amazing adventures as you enhance the customer interaction by helping them become extraordinary explorers!
As a Volunteer, you can expect to participate in activities that enhance your personal growth while serving a valued role to the museum, using your talents to further the mission of Exploration Place, which is a dedication to inspire a deeper interest in science through creative and fun experience.
As we tell our visitors, Exploration Place is all about fun! As a fully hands-on museum, we encourage Staff, Volunteers, and Visitors alike to fully experience everything the museum has to offer, from building mountains in our stream table to perfecting your paper airplane, Exploration Place has something to offer the young at heart of all ages!
Volunteers of Exploration Place receive both formal and informal recognition throughout the year, including invitations to Volunteer Exclusive events, a monthly newsletter, and of course the opportunity to be a part of the Exploration Place Family.
