Exploration Assistant and Traveling Exhibits Guide
Assisting the Education Department with school groups and general admission visitors gives Volunteers the opportunity to provide our customers with a fully interactive experience!  Volunteers will help guide visitors through the museum, assist them in their explorations of all the museum has to offer, and be trained to provide the best possible customer interaction.
Volunteers will be trained to operate the Gyro Extreme and the Exploration Place Carousel.  Training sessions will be held monthly for National Traveling Exhibits and as a refresher for our standard exhibits.  Volunteers will need to attend training in order to work in National Traveling Exhibits.

Skills and Abilities: Must be able to lift 15-25 pounds when re-stocking supplies in exhibits.  Must be able to maneuver through exhibits, and will be expected to be actively engaging customers.  An open, friendly attitude is a must for this special position!

Training: Volunteer training sessions are held every 1-2 months.  Volunteers have the option of attending training sessions from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on training dates. 
Training for the Gyro Extreme or the Exploration Place Carousel is available at any time during the hours when the museum is open to the public.

Schedule: Assistance is preferred for the following shifts:  Thursday evening, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  We also welcome volunteers who are available from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. through the week to assist with school groups.
Minimum Commitment: Six hours per month.
Age Requirement: Must be at least 15 years old.
